Job Description:
We are seeking a highly capable and forward-thinking Business
Systems Analyst (BSA) to support data-driven transformation
initiatives in manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, and
transportation. This role requires a strong blend of business
analysis expertise, SQL/data acumen, and modern documentation
capabilities, including the use of AI-powered tools like Mermaid,
Cursor, and intelligent documentation plugins. The ideal candidate
will act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical
teams to drive the design, implementation, and documentation of
scalable, insight-driven solutions. Responsibilities: Business
Systems Analysis (70%) - Lead end-to-end business analysis
activities, including stakeholder engagement, requirement
gathering, impact analysis, and solution definition. - Profile,
interpret, and analyze large datasets using T-SQL to validate
business needs, troubleshoot issues, and uncover actionable
insights. - Translate business requirements into functional
specifications, technical documentation, and robust data models for
use in analytics and reporting. - Collaborate with data engineering
teams to design and enhance SQL-based data pipelines, integrations,
and transformations. - Actively participate in Agile ceremonies,
manage sprint progress, and ensure accurate backlog grooming and
task tracking in JIRA. - Partner with QA teams to develop test
scenarios, validate data output, and confirm solution alignment
with business goals. - Serve as a conduit between business and
technical teams to ensure alignment, accuracy, and quality of all
deliverables. AI-Enhanced Documentation and Visualization (30%) -
Maintain structured and dynamic documentation in Confluence, using
AI-powered tools like: - Mermaid for creating flowcharts, sequence
diagrams, and entity relationship diagrams. - Cursor (AI pair
programmer and documentation assistant) to auto-generate,
summarize, or refactor documentation based on evolving technical
discussions. - Additional intelligent platforms or plugins (e.g.,
Notion AI, GitHub Copilot for markdown, Scribe) for maintaining
up-to-date records of data dictionaries, user stories, system
architecture, and SOPs. - Create clear, visual representations of
complex processes, data relationships, and system flows to drive
shared understanding across teams. - Automate and enhance
documentation workflows to reduce manual overhead and ensure
consistency, scalability, and traceability. - Define and maintain
standardized templates for business requirements, data
specifications, and project deliverables. Qualifications
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information
Systems, Business, or related field - PMP Certified - 10 years of
experience as a Business Systems Analyst supporting data-centric or
transformation projects. - Deep domain expertise in manufacturing,
logistics, supply chain, or transportation. - Proficiency in T-SQL
and SQL Server for querying, data profiling, and performance
optimization. - Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts,
including star/snowflake schema, fact/dimension tables, and ETL
workflows - Proven experience with JIRA, Confluence, and
Agile/Scrum methodologies. - Experience using Mermaid, Cursor, or
other intelligent documentation/AI tools for visualizing or
automating documentation. - Ability to gather and document business
and technical requirements - Expertise in writing source-to-target
mappings, data dictionaries, and process flow diagrams - Skilled in
data profiling and validating results from data transformation
logic - Understanding of data quality principles and ability to
define quality KPIs - Experience with data governance, metadata
management, and lineage tracking - Ability to understand and
communicate data dependencies and impacts across systems - Strong
communication skills—able to translate between technical and
non-technical stakeholders. - Familiarity with data visualization
platforms such as Power BI or Tableau. - Knowledge of ETL tools or
data integration frameworks (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory). -
Exposure to data governance, data quality, and master data
management concepts. - Experience with ERP or
