Network LAN/WAN/Security . This is a Network LAN/WAN/Security
Engineer role responsible for daily management of our data network
infrastructure deployed globally within the Takeda enterprise.

Responsibilities Decision Making and Autonomy Demonstrated capacity

architectures. Platform Responsibilities / Requirements Strategic
Leadership & Decision-Making Drive wireless platform strategy,
architecture, and roadmap aligned with business needs and
enterprise goals. Act autonomously in technical decisions related
to wireless networking, balancing innovation with operational
stability. Lead platform standardization, blueprinting, and
reference architectures for enterprise Wi-Fi infrastructure. Ensure
architectural alignment and compliance with broader IT and security
governance. Wireless Platform Architecture & Ownership Design,
implement, and maintain Cisco wireless infrastructure, including
WLCs, APs, and Cisco ISE for secure access control and policy
enforcement. Lead RF planning, site surveys, and optimization
efforts using Ekahau or similar tools for optimal performance and
coverage. Manage wireless capacity planning, channel utilization,
spectrum analysis, and proactive performance tuning. Integrate
wireless infrastructure into broader LAN/WAN, Cloud, and Security
architectures. Provide subject matter expertise on 802.11
standards, WPA3 security, RRM, CleanAir, Fast Roaming
(802.11r/k/v), and mobility architectures. Troubleshoot high-impact
issues involving wireless roaming, client connectivity, RF
interference, and policy enforcement. Monitoring & Operational
Excellence Develop and enhance wireless monitoring dashboards using
tools like ThousandEyes, NetProfiler, SolarWinds , and Cisco DNA
Center. Support lifecycle management, including firmware upgrades,
patching, and incident response. Contribute to after-hours on-call
support and provide escalation-level troubleshooting for wireless
and network security incidents. Strong understanding of end to end
application performance monitoring toolset such as Netprofiler,
LiveNX, Aternity, ThousandEyes, and Solarwinds. May be asked to
enhance or modify monitoring dashboards to provide proactive
monitoring and alerting capabilities for application delivery
experience General Network Services Responsibilities Responsible
for planning, designing, and implementing network
solutions—including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, backbone, and network
security technologies—and integrating them into Takeda's overall
network architecture and design Extensive network engineering and
architecture experience, with deep understanding of large-scale
(150 sites) LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, network security, advanced BGP,
overlays, cloud networking, and SASE/Zero Trust architectures
Breath of knowledge across the technical domains of architecture
(applications, integration, information & data, compute & storage,
networking, security, etc.). Provides subject matter expertise,
technical analysis and consultation on the design and
implementation of all network services and network technologies
owned by the Global Network Platform Team. This position is
responsible for designing, testing, implementing, and hands on
support of the network infrastructure. This position provides
consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning,
problem management, after hours on call incidents, and operational
/ project support as needed. Is recognized within IT and Takeda as
a Sr Engineer / SME for Design, Development, and Enablement of
Network infrastructure, a role which cuts across business and
technology domains. Fosters the adoption of applicable platform
policies, standards, guidelines and reference / enablement
materials by working closely with Network Operations, Solution
Delivery, and other platform teams and key stakeholders.
Appropriate level of business acumen preferably in pharmaceutical
industry, primarily in terms of R&D / Clinical Trials and
Commerical considerations in the Pharmaceutical industry Ability to
bridge old design patterns with paradigm shifting architecture
patterns in a way that covers all technical domains Stakeholder
Responsibilities Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate
with IT business partners, global infrastructure teams, and
security stakeholders to ensure secure, compliant, and resilient
wireless solutions. Partner with solution delivery and operations
teams to drive standards adoption and successful project execution.
Translate business and regulatory requirements into technical
designs with focus on scalability, resiliency, and end-user
experience. Demonstrated ability to apply situational awareness and
critical thinking to assess trade-offs, with a bias for action to
effectively meet the needs of business owners, customers, and other
stakeholders. Ability to understand and respond promptly to
customer needs and goals, while aligning with current platform
capabilities and anticipating future platform opportunities.
Effectively set customer expectations and ensure services delivered
meet or exceed current and future business, customer, and
stakeholder desired outcomes. Key Skills Required Bachelor’s degree
or equivalent experience. CCNP Wireless, CWNA/CWDP, or Cisco DevNet
certifications preferred. 7 years of deep hands-on experience with
enterprise wireless networking, with a strong focus on Cisco WLC,
ISE, and RF design. Proven experience conducting and analyzing
Ekahau or AirMagnet site surveys and tuning for complex
environments (e.g., healthcare, labs, manufacturing). Strong
understanding of ISE integrations, including policy sets,
profiling, posture, and Guest/BYOD onboarding. Solid grasp of
wireless security best practices, segmentation, identity-based
access, and Zero Trust architectures. Experience designing HLD/LLD
documentation for wireless networks, including capacity planning
and high-availability designs. Familiarity with wired
infrastructure supporting wireless (e.g., PoE switches,
segmentation, VLANs). Proficiency in managing large-scale wireless
rollouts and upgrades across multiple global locations. Expertise
with Cisco DNA Center and leveraging AI-based insights for wireless
assurance and optimization. Working knowledge of LAN/WAN, SD-WAN,
Cloud Networking (AWS/Azure/GCP) and firewall technologies (e.g.,
Palo Alto, Zscaler) is required. Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing wireless infrastructure in a regulated
environment (e.g., Life Sciences, Pharma, or Healthcare) is highly
desirable. xperience in Agile environments using SAFe, DevOps,
CI/CD, Jira. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation
(Python, Ansible), and API integrations with wireless platforms.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment, delivering
high-quality, scalable wireless solutions. Exposure to multiple,
diverse technologies and application processing environments in a
globally distributed organization. Familiarity with SRE principles
and proactive reliability management in a distributed enterprise.

Cambridge, MA U.S. Base Salary Range: $111,800.00 - $175,670.00 The
estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this
position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of
factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant
for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique
skills, level of education attained, certifications or other
professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant
lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual
base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local
minimum wage requirements for the job location. U.S. based
