How will you make an impact?
The Technical Sales Specialist you are responsible for sales and related support activities for Thermo Fisher Scientific Life Science Solutions Group, Biosciences Division, Protein & Cell Analysis Flow Cytometry Reagents products to specified academic, government or industrial accounts comprising the assigned territory: The Biomarker Discovery & Validated Assay portfolio contains innovative, high quality reagents in the area of ELISA, Luminex Multiplex, Mass Spectrometry, Gene Expression, and Cell Health. We cater to researchers worldwide that empower the process of scientific discovery with a strong focus on the areas of applied markets, protein discovery, cellular immunity, immunotherapy, toxicology and oncology.

What will you do?Achievement of assigned territory sales goalsProviding deep knowledge of the workflows around immunoassays, mass spec, and gene expressionProactively calling on existing and potential new customers via field visits, web conferences and telephoneWork closely with Thermo Fisher counterparts to develop specific account growth strategy, account mapping and penetrationBe a strong technical resource to Thermo Fisher counterparts in the areas of assigned portfolioGenerates and qualifies sales leads by building a strong pipelineDeliver a robust funnel and forecast on a regular basisMaintain appropriate records and process demos, sample requests per Company guidelinesGathers, process, and disseminate competitive intelligence and market feedbackRefer customer complaints/product quality problems to the appropriate functionsProvide weekly/monthly and other ad hoc reporting as requiredParticipate in trade shows, vendor shows and related activities as deemed necessaryPrepare and implement Territory Sales Plans and update as neededSpecial Projects as requestedIdentifies and mitigates competitive barriersMay provide after sales technical support and customer serviceCoordinates and/or conducts both technical and promotional seminarsProvides mentorship, if applicableHow will you get here?

Requires a BA or BS in Biology, Immunology or related field, preferred M.Sc. or PhD

ExperiencePrevious lab experience utilizing ELISA, Multiplexing, Gene Expression assays, Mass Spec And / Or previous sales experience selling into these workflowsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong technical background with a minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in a research laboratory settingBackground and familiarity with customers involved in drug discovery, particularly in the areas of developing Screening Assays and Biomarker DiscoverySelling experience in the area of Immunoassays, Biomarker Screening Tools, Mass Spec, and/or Gene ExpressionCustomer-centric behaviors are evidentAwareness of the life science marketplace, particularly of the immunoassay market, its trends and our competitorsStrong organizational skills with the ability to plan in advance and execute the plansDemonstrates clear and concise communication skills both written and verbal, and strong presentation skillsAble to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to partner effectively as part of a team to solve problems, negotiate solutions and arrive at a consensusWorks well in a team environmentCapable of working independentlyExperience Microsoft Office applicationsDemonstrates a sense of urgency, contagious optimism and a can do attitudeHigh level of willingness for travelingAble to work out of home officeValid driver licenseAble to lift 35 lbs. independentlyAt Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 70,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
