Job Description:

Estimators (Lindon Group, Inc., Rumford, RI): Interpret and analyze contract documents including specifications, structural, architectural, and civil plans; Perform engineering calculations to determine material take-offs for rebar, mesh, and accessories; Enter project estimates into company software to ensure accurate rebar take-offs; Summarize the scope of work clearly and concisely to produce a quality project price; Solicit competitive pricing from vendors, and cultivate and maintain strong relationships with rebar mills and wire mesh companies; Collaborate with the Sales Manager to price jobs according to market feedback; Manage multiple active rebar projects from inception to completion; Review rebar placing drawings prior to customer submittal; Coordinate all rebar submittals and RFIs between detailers and clients; Request accurate rebar take-offs from detailers for timely delivery on-site; Manage the company document control system, including downloads and backups for all project data; Act as the liaison between the shop and the customer to ensure proper rebar fabrication, balancing shop capacities and limits when scheduling to ensure an even workload; Work with shop management to ensure timely fabrication meeting customer delivery requirements; Coordinate with outside vendors to haul material to jobsites as needed; Maintain meticulous billing records and complete all invoicing accurately and promptly. Must have the following skills and experience to perform the above-mentioned tasks: Understanding of Construction Blueprints; Experience with drawings scales, dimensions, measurements, and unit conversions; High-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Bluebeam Revu; Strong mathematical skills in Basic Arithmetic, Geometry, Algebra and Trigonometry; Experience maintaining relationships with vendor representatives; Understanding of Building Codes & Standards related to Structural Components; Expertise in estimating material, labor, and overhead costs accurately, including ability to account market fluctuations in material prices; Strong spatial awareness to visualize and solve problems related to Structural Placements of different building components; Experience coordinating with architects, structural engineers, contractors and other stake holders to ensure that the designs align with the overall project goals; Ability to manage design changes effectively, ensuring that any modifications do not compromise the integrity of the structure; Knowledge of permitting process and the ability to navigate the approval process with the authorities; Knowledge of inspection techniques to verify the quality and accuracy of installation of construction materials on site. Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or Management or related field, and at least three years of experience as an Estimator, Project Manager or related occupation.
