Most recently, we have constructed a new 44,000 square foot health technologies facility, the Dr. Ibrahim El-Hefni Allied Health & Technology Center. Job Description: Part-Time Educational and Career Advisor (ECA): Center for Adult Education; Lawrence Campus; Part-Time position, Center for Adult Education (CAE); 12-14hours/week, 3-4 days/week; Grant funded; MCCC/MTA Unit Position RESPONSIBILITIES: The Educational and Career Advisor will provide, coordinate, and document all advising, and provide learners with support services and guidance to assist them in meeting their educational and career goals. Reports to Coordinator. - Provide individualized education and career planning and advising for post-secondary education/training and career opportunities - Assist students to identify education and career goals and develop an Individual Education and Career Plan - Assist students to identify and set goals; and set a realistic timeline for attaining each goal and a means for determining whether the goals are achieved - Monitor student's progress toward her/his goals while in the program through regular scheduled meetings and check-ins, beginning at enrollment - Collaborate with teachers to ensure that student goals inform instruction - Follow up every quarter to monitor progress toward and achievement of student goals and enter into LACES or Excel spread sheet (as required) - Record and notify Coordinator of student absence or lateness - Refer students to college and community resources to enhance academic supports and address barriers to attendance (e.g. childcare, transportation, disability/health issues, domestic violence, housing, food/fuel assistance & mental health issues) - Collaborate with NECC Enrollment/Academic Counselor - Follow up with students after program completion re: student educational progress and goal achievement - Enter required data into LACES, e.g. student intake, attendance, goals and progress - Use labor market trend information to inform career planning - Document and maintain all advising in a confidential record - Collaborate and assist Coordinator with intake, assessment, recruitment.
