Full-Time Workshop Specialist: Career Development Counselor; MassHire; 37.5 hours per week; MCCC/MTA Unit Professional Position; Pay grade 4.The primary responsibilities of this role is the facilitation and development of MassHire Merrimack Valley Career Center (MMVCC) workshops for job seeker customers, employers, community based organizations, and/or specific target audiences to support work readiness preparation that leads to employment.Position is supervised by the Career Center Executive Director.RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Facilitate all assigned workshops/trainings for MassHire Merrimack Valley Career Center customers and programs to meet career center goals.
• Perform workshop curriculum development, design, and modification that meets the needs of the organization and job seeker customers.
• Prepare for workshops and outreach activities by supplying, copying and organizing the appropriate materials and equipment to be used.
• Assist in the coordination of workshop planning and scheduling and with the monthly workshop calendar programming.
• Assist in scheduling workshops through the Career Center's Management Information System.
• Assist in the marketing of Career Center workshops and services to job seeker customers with appropriate focus to meet organizational goals.
• Complete all required data entry, case notes for workshops, attendance collection, and closing out all facilitated events.
• Ensure quality control and continuous improvement and excellent customer service in all activities.
• Respond appropriately to changing business needs and/or changing schedules, program demands or goals.
• Participate in staff development and cross training opportunities that expand and support functional skills and promote professional growth.

  Requirements:
  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in facilitating group instruction or delivering presentations to groups
  • Knowledge of learning styles and classroom and technology-based training
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of individuals and personalities
  • Proficient in use of computers
  • Willingness to work evenings and Saturdays when needed, which will be paid in accordance with the collective bargaining agreementPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
    • Knowledge of job search strategies and techniques
    • Curriculum development experience and skills
    • Past experience in employment and training or human resources
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task

      Additional Information:
      SALARY: Anticipated salary range is $52,754.00 to $57,992.00 annually; pay grade 4. Includes a complete fringe benefit package such as competitive health insurance, free dental insurance, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, educational benefits for employee/spouse/dependents, and excellent retirement benefits.Actual salary calculated in compliance with MCCC/MTA classification system.
