Role Summary: The behavioral clinician is a part time role that provides oversight to the behavioral needs of core members at L'Arche Boston North. The behavioral clinician is directly supervised by the program director and will develop and supervise the implementation of positive behavioral support plans, attend meetings, and assist with behavioral issues as needed. The position requires proficiency in supports for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. The behavioral clinician will work closely with the program director, community nurse, house managers and direct care support staff. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: --- Develop, monitor, and evaluate comprehensive functional assessment-based behavior support plans targeting both reductions of challenging behavior and acquisition of replacement skills. --- Maintains responsibility for staff/caregiver training, coaching, and on-site technical assistance as a means of ensuring accurate behavior plan implementation. --- Provides on-site oversight of behavior support plan implementation on a regular basis (minimum of monthly visits). --- Generates objectives and provides data reporting on both patterns of challenging behavior and replacement skills. --- Generates specific procedures to teach/increase replacement behaviors. --- Participates in staff meetings or other meetings as needed. --- Provides input to inform the Individual Support Plan (ISP) process, collaborating with other members of the team to promote a continuity of care. --- Participates in the intake process as requested. --- Designs and/or conducts staff trainings on clinically-related topics as needed (e.g., training in a foundation-approved crisis management curriculum). --- Maintains confidential records (e.g., assessments, support plans, monthly summaries), completes mandated reports (e.g., incident reports), and participates in mandated reviews as per regulations (e.g., peer review, human rights review). --- Participates in agency PBS leadership team meetings quarterly Other Duties: Please note this role description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Qualifications: --- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and easy-going demeanor --- Excellent written and verbal communication skills --- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team --- Ability to make informed decisions and exemplify good judgement in emergency situations Education and Experience: --- Master's degree , preferably in psychology, social work, behavior analysis, special education, mental health counseling, or a related field. Requires licensure to practice in Commonwealth of Massachusetts . Dual credentials (e.g., psychologist, LMHC, LICSW, LCSW) and/or professional training and experience in mental health, and/or positive behavior support (PBS) are preferred --- 2-3 years prior experience working with Individuals with Developmental Disabilities --- Demonstrated skills in a variety of observation and data collection techniques; behavior analytic assessment and intervention techniques; proficiency with competency-based training and monitoring --- Training and experience with clinical supervision, preferably in the delivery of behavior analytic services --- Knowledge of human development, learning, behavior analysis, positive behavior support, collaborative consultation, and abnormal psychology Other Qualifications: --- Ability to pass CORI and national fingerprint background checks --- Valid driver's license.
