Job Description Job Description The Speech-Language Pathologist
consults with the Interdisciplinary Teams (IDT) to provide the best
plan of coordinated speech/swallowing services for the
participants. Full or part time – weekdays only. Methuen, MA area.
Essential Responsibilities: - Conducts initial Speech therapy
evaluations and screens, develops individual treatment plans,
implements appropriate interventions, and treats as appropriate. -
Coordinates speech/swallowing services as they relate to direct
patient care. - Records required documentation timely and per
Organizational policy. - Prepares for and participates in
pre-enrollment, care planning, debriefing, staff meetings and
discharge planning. Attends family meetings as necessary. -
Performs cognitive, linguistic, and swallowing evaluations as
referred by the medical team. - Conducts education and training for
the participant, family, and caregivers regarding speech therapy
treatment. - Assists with the development of policies, procedures
and applicable workflows. - Frequently contributes to the
development and implementation of new ideas and methods. -
Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method
for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. - Ability to pass
a fit test. Position requires mask where seal is critical.
Incumbent is required to not have facial hair that interferes with
a tight seal of the respirator. - Frequent local travel. - Performs
other duties as required. Job Specification: - Master’s degree in
SLP from an accredited college or university - Current
Massachusetts SLP license - Minimum of one (1) year of healthcare
or clinical experience working with the elderly - Ability to
demonstrate professionalism, initiative, good judgment and
effective decision-making; exhibit strong process improvement
orientation - Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands
and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities -
Advanced computer skills (Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) -
