Qualifications POSITION SUMMARY: Registered nurse demonstrates
independence in planning, organizing, administering, and evaluating
patient care in accordance with the NH Nurse Practice Act,
recognized nursing techniques, clinical and administrative
policies. SPECIFIC ELEMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS &
RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific
judgment and leadership in planning, directing, and the provision
of nursing care to the patients in accordance with the N.H. Nurse
Practice Act, recognized nursing techniques, and clinical and
administrative policies. 1. Provide therapeutic and administrative
services necessary for the care of the patient, in support of HCA
ethical principles and values. 2. Maintains patient
confidentiality, privacy, and functions to meet patient's right to
be informed. 3. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific
judgement and leadership in planning for the care of the patient 4.
Demonstrate knowledge of normal anatomy and physiology of the adult
patient population as well as age adjusted and culturally
appropriate care. 5. Provide safe medication administration for the
adult patient population. 6. Assessing, planning, implementing,
evaluating, and documenting all aspects of patient care. Set
priorities and modifies patient care in response to changing
conditions by utilizing problem solving skills and exhibiting good
judgment. 7. Delegate appropriate tasks to unlicensed personnel and
provides required supervision as needed. 8. Collaborate with all
health care providers and interdisciplinary team serving as the
primary coordinator to facilitate and coordinate efficient,
effective, and quality healthcare. Communicate patient progress
towards the outcome attainment and assist providers and team during
treatment/examination of patient and process orders. 9. Makes
appropriate and timely notification to providers on patient
condition changes and carries out provider orders. 10. Monitors,
records, and communicates effectively patient condition as
appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems to
maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and
physicians. 11. Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge
planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Instructs and
educates patients and families providing age and culturally
appropriate care. 12. Functions as an effective team member and/or
charge RN when needed, orients and mentors new staff members 13.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as
required. 14. Maintains competencies in clinical areas and is
responsible for professional growth and development. 15. It is
expected that the RN will attend Unit Meetings as directed by the
Nurse Manager/Director and participate in continuing education
programs and quality assurance programs to maintain competence and
gain additional skills and knowledge. 16. Demonstrates knowledge
and proficiency in the care of the including but not limited to pre
and post care of procedural patients, stroke and trauma patients,
cardiovascular disease including AFIB and other arrhythmias,
patient control analgesia (PCAs), epidural and nerve blocks,
subdural and ventricular drains, NIH stroke scale, titrating IV
medications and arterial lines as well as other invasive lines or
drains and airway/respiratory devices- trachs and high flow and IV
maintenance. What qualifications you will need: Advanced Cardiac
Life Spt must be obtained within 45 days of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of
employment start date (RN) Registered Nurse state of New Hampshire
or compact state licensure 1-3 years related experience Associate's
degree in Nursing, Bachelor's degree preferred. NIH Stroke Scale
