Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 9 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic Operating Room Experience Punctuality, 30 min call back time, flexible schedule Description: General Comments: Tell us about the unit: Number of OR Suites - 3 Number of Staff - 11 Type of Staff: - Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 or 4 RNs, 2 Scrub Techs, 1 Aide or Anesthesia Tech - Night Shift: 3 member call team Patient Ratios: 3 staff members per OR Type of Equipment: Open Heart, Vascular, Thoracic EMR: Meditech Typical Hiring Profile: Most recruited for: Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters Candidates without the following skills will not be considered for the role: Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic Operating Room Experience Punctuality, 30 min call back time, flexible schedule Candidates with the following skills will be considered first: Ability to scrub Cardiac and Vascular cases Experience with Meditech EMR Typical Procedures Performed: CABG Valves TAVR EVAR TEVAR Carotid endarterectomy Fistula creation/interventions VATS Thoracotomy Fem-pop bypass Angiograms with interventions LVAD RVAD ECMO Level 2 trauma coverage for all vascular and thoracic procedures Best Personality Fit: Self-motivated Team-oriented Flexible Dress Code: Scrub color - Scrubs provided Unit Guidelines/Policies: Time off requests must be in contract Call requirement is approximately one weekend a month and 2-3 days per week Any additional information that would entice a worker to select this unit for their assignment: There are 3 people on call every night: 2 RNs and a scrub tech. It is a small team with members who have been with us for almost 20 years.
