Job Title: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer Profession: Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 15:00-23:00 Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: NH MIRT Licensure Certifications: BLS, RDMS Must-Have: - At least one year of experience with a wide array of exposure to various types of ultrasound - A good track record with past employers and positive references - Knowledge of anatomy and pathology with the ability to recognize normal from abnormal findings - Basic scanning skills with a good understanding of sonographic physics and techniques - Clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting, with some exposure to general, vascular, and OB-GYN sonography Description: The unit has 4 ultrasound rooms. There are 14 staff members on the team. During day shift, 4 sonographers are staffed, plus a supervisor. During the second shift, 1 sonographer is staffed after 7:30 PM. During the night shift, 1 sonographer is staffed. Patient ratios are 8-10 in an 8-hour shift. Equipment includes Siemens Acuson S200 and GE Logiq E10. The EMR used is Allscripts, and PACS is InteleRad. Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric. Candidates with additional certifications such as RVT, OB-GYN, and AB will be prioritized. Experience in the OR and with ultrasound procedures is preferred. Previous typical procedures include thoracentesis, paracentesis, fine-needle aspirations, and soft tissue biopsies. The ideal candidate is hard working, motivated, and a fast learner. Candidates should be considerate towards others and provide compassionate patient care. They should be able to work both in a team and independently and be willing to teach. Engagement in gossip should be avoided. Effective communication with management is necessary, and adherence to department policies is expected. Attendance and PTO request policies must be followed, and all exam protocols need to be adhered to. Weekends are covered by weekend position staff, and there is no on-call duty as a call tree is implemented for staffing needs.
