Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years in the Emergency Department License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Successful completion of an accredited RN program Two years of experience in the Emergency Department Description: Our Emergency Department is looking for a skilled, hardworking, and dedicated RN to join our team. The department is staffed 24 hours per day, 365 days a year by board-certified emergency medicine physicians, as well as highly skilled emergency care nursing staff. We provide emergency care for patients of all ages, with a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries. Candidates must be BLS, ACLS, and PALS certified. Job Responsibilities: As a registered nurse, you will assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of patient care within your scope of practice. You will use your knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care. You will assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs. Quality of care must be provided in an efficient, safe manner consistent with policies and procedures for the department. Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the assigned unit and the organization. Resolve patient care and departmental situations within your scope of responsibility and refer problems beyond that scope to appropriate individuals. Assist with data collection in research studies being conducted in the work area. Qualifications / Skills / Experience: Successful completion of an accredited RN program. Current RN License. One year of RN experience preferred, with willingness to train the right person. Requires sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time. Requires bending, crouching, or kneeling. Requires use of hands, keyboarding, and fine motor skills, with the ability to lift up to twenty pounds. Occasionally moving objects up to 100 pounds is required. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care. Must be flexible and cool under pressure. Must be able to balance compassion with self-care. Is able to de-escalate difficult situations using verbal de-escalation techniques and/or nonverbal methods. Able to work as a team member and recognize the scope of team members' roles and responsibilities. Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with external team members, such as first responders. Excellent communication skills are essential to ensure a seamless transfer of care.
