Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening/Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Strong telemetry skills Experience titrating vasoactive and inotrope medications Chest tube experience Previous ICU experience Description: The role requires managing critical patients in an intensive care setting. You will work with a 25-bed unit with a patient ratio of 2:1. The unit is staffed with mid-level providers, trauma surgeons, and respiratory therapists available around the clock. Physical and occupational therapy services are available during the day shift. Essential equipment includes GE monitors, Hamilton Bipaps and Hiflows, Puritan ventilators, and Hemospheres. Documentation is performed using Meditech Expanse. You will be expected to complete 12 shifts per month, including 4 weekend shifts. Floating will be done on a rotation basis, with travelers floating first. MyCare boards must be updated during bedside shift report, which occurs at each change of shift. The unit is certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Level 2 Trauma Center. Past ICU experience is preferred, and candidates with open heart experience and temporary pacing will be prioritized. Procedures performed include intubation, central line and arterial line placement, and chest tube placement.
