Job Description:
Position Summary:Cabot is looking for an Engineering Capital
Project Manager to join their team in the Inkjet plant in
Haverhill, MA. This person will help plan, develop, and coordinate
technical and administrative control capital projects on the site.
They will manage plant capital activities, to ensure plant
facilities are safe, environmentally sound and have the best
available technology to produce and ship a high-quality product at
the lowest possible cost. They will provide an environment that
supports the achievement of Cabot's capital investment objectives
through process ownership and partnering with process stakeholders,
as well as assure and increase safety and comfort to employees.
This position requires this person to be onsite full-time.Job
Responsibilities:Supports the achievement of Cabot's capital
strategy by working closely with key stakeholders (Mfg., Logistics,
Product Lines, etc.) to evaluate capital initiatives and technical
needs.Develops and implements capital projects to improve product
quality, operating efficiency and lower total costs. Leads
initiative to prioritize capital projects and coordinate updates.
Coordinates major capital projects with the engineering and
external engineering firms by assisting in developing project
scopes and searching for best alternatives of third part workforce,
materials, equipment, etc. Assures work evolution throughout, cost
worksheets, communicating schedule design or other problems
encountered with the appropriate department(s).Develops and
implements equipment, procedure and process changes including the
design and implementation of improvement projects, and
participation in Hazard Operability Studies and Process Hazards
Analysis (PHA). Serve as plant lead in Process Safety Management
(PSM). Ensures all product and process changes are implemented in
line with appropriate Management of Change (MOC) principles. May
provide training as required to manufacturing personnel in relevant
manufacturing processes.Recommends and implements changes to
improve plant performance by optimizing product volume, yields and
quality in accordance with business needs, while minimizing
operating costs and maximizing unit safety and reliability. Uses
statistical techniques to improve process capability; uses failure
analysis methodology to investigate, find root causes, recommend
and implement equipment modifications and upgrades and/or implement
process improvements.Provides process/project engineering support
in facility. Projects could include, line re-starts, facility
upgrades, qualification team lead, etc.Serve as construction
liaison between operations/contractors/site SH&E and site
Maintenance.Prepares, instructs and leads in preparation of
production and maintenance staff for safe invasive construction
activities.Supports efforts to implement and maintain the
Responsible Care - Management System in line with the requirements
of the RC14001 - technical specification, as applicable to the
site/region.Requirements:Ability in Capital planning &
managementManages project plans, milestones, tasks,
etc.Accuracy/attention to detailKnowledge of Engineering standards
and specificationsKnowledge of Process Safety ManagementProven
ability to manage & develop budgetsKnowledge of Safety
AwarenessReading and interpreting blueprints and technical
drawingsAbility to work effectively and in teams.Ability to gather,
analyze and draw well-reasoned conclusionsBachelors/University
degree in EngineeringMinimum of 5 years of capital project
experience in a Manufacturing or Industrial organizationExperienced
preferred in process/manufacturing engineering in speciality
chemical industryBatch manufacturing experience preferredPMP
certification preferredPE license preferred#CIND
