Description Established in 1980, the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) is a multi-site, mission-driven, non-profit organization employing over 600 staff whose primary focus is providing the highest quality patient care to a culturally diverse population throughout the Merrimack Valley. Nationally recognized as a leader in community medicine (family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics), GLFHC has clinical sites throughout the service area and is the sponsoring organization for the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.

GLFHC is seeking a Clinician, Medical Site Director with specific interest and skill in the care of patients with substance abuse disorder to lead our new clinic in the City of Haverhill, including the establishment of a new NP residency program in partnership with Regis College. The Clinician Medical Site Director provides on-site medical and clinical leadership for clinic site, coordinates with the Site Operations Manager to facilitate effective inter/intra-departmental business. Provides administrative and organizational support to ensure optimal communication. Mentors clinicians and recommends clinical and operational improvement opportunities for site.

Job Responsibilities and Performance Standards:

--- In collaboration with the Site Operations Manager ensures that all patients presenting for care are seen in a timely manner.

--- Provide leadership to site clinicians ensuring site targets and quality outcomes are achieved consistently and patient care is a top priority.

--- Analyzes productivity and allocation of staff time and recommends changes in systems to increase efficiency and productivity. (Participates in the development and oversight of program budgets.)

--- Assist Site Operations Manager with provider scheduling including maintaining adequate coverage to achieve site target goals and quality outcomes.

--- Responsible for site clinical administrative requirements providing support to clinicians as needed. Completes annual performance reviews of all clinicians assigned to the site.

--- Serves as communication liaison between Chief Medical Officer and other clinicians, managers, patients, community reps, etc. Demonstrates empathy and perceptiveness to analyze circumstances and determine most appropriate course of action.

--- Serves as a member of the PCMH Multi-site Integration Team to promote interdisciplinary collaboration among medical, nursing, and operations leaders at all sites.

--- Ensures that all clinicians complete chart documentation for patient care in accordance with policies, meets meaningful use requirements and completes required trainings on time. Site Director will actively manage those who are not in compliance including the use of progressive discipline if necessary.
--- Initiates and evaluates strategies which improve patient care and departmental services. Participates in Health Center-wide quality assurance activities as requested. Assesses sites needs and recommends changes as needed.

--- In collaboration with the Site Operations Manager, and the Clinical Nursing Supervisor, implements systems to measure and improve quality of care delivered to patients and improvement of clinical office practice.

--- Provides leadership for the site's continuing development as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH).

--- Coordinates conferences, interviews, and meetings as needed, including coordinating the evaluation of direct reports.

--- Compiles data and statistical information; develops reports and special projects as assigned.

--- Develops, maintains and distributes data base information pertaining to the site's medical staff.

--- Assures excellent financial management and use of resources of office site.

--- Provides back-up coverage for the Site Operations Manager as needed.

--- Participates in meetings as a representative for the Chief Medical Director and/or clinicians as needed.

--- Attends all mandatory Health Center and departmental in-services.

--- Accepts responsibility, is self-directed in developing and maintaining own level of competence, career development and education.

--- Provide leadership for employees to experience training opportunities related to quality improvement.

Requirements Education
--- Board certification or eligibility in an appropriate specialty, current medical license in Massachusetts, and certification to prescribe Suboxone.

--- Excellent communication and clinical skills.

--- Well-developed organizational skills; strong follow through skills.

--- Self-directed; reliable; detail-oriented.

--- Demonstrated work ethic of confidentiality and professionalism

This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 USC 254b and a deemed Public Health Service employer under 42 USC 233 (g)-(n). No one will be denied access to services at GLFHC due to inability to pay; there is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income.
