Job Description Job Description Operator: The Multi-Axis CNC
Operator is responsible for maintaining Wilcox’s quality standards
while manufacturing a variety of parts. In this position you will
maintain the operation of various Multi-Axis CNC machines, this
includes but is not limited to preparing stock, inspecting parts,
cleaning and deburring parts, and maintaining a clean working
environment. Roles & Responsibilities Carry out machine operations
as instructed. Responsible for the visual and physical quality of
the parts being machined. Alert senior department personnel when
offsets and/or tool changes are needed. Use 1factory to complete
the necessary daily inspections. Work with the Quality Department
to ensure parts are within engineering tolerances to avoid costly
scrap or rework. Verify necessary gaging is within calibration
date. Maintain a clean and tidy work area. Ensure adherence to all
safety protocols. Ensures compliance with ITAR, EAR, and other
federal requirements. Perform other duties as necessary when
directed to do so to support business needs. Qualifications &
Requirements Education & Experience: High School Diploma or
equivalent combination of education and experience. Required
Skills/Abilities: Regular on-site attendance is a necessary
function of this position. Ability to use precision measuring
instruments and gauges to check parts according to drawings.
Knowledge or willingness to learn how to read basic engineering
drawings. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions,
process documentation, and work orders. Strong communication
skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Committed to
safety consciousness and able to follow the company’s safety
policies and procedures · Ability to work in a fast-paced
environment. Basic computer usage, to include Microsoft Word and
Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Wilcox is

access to export-controlled technology. Qualified candidates must

technology prior to beginning work Preferred Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work overtime as needed. Vocational or similar training
in the machining field. Physical Requirements: Must be able to work
in noisy environments. Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and
climb to access all parts of the machine. Must wear eye and ear
protection. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear; use hands
and fingers to handle and touch objects, tools, or controls to work
in a production environment. Vision abilities required including
close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to
adjust focus to work. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and
working on a computer. Must be able to lift 35 pounds at times Hand
eye coordination. Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools,
and performing repetitive actions with fingers, hands and wrists.

Setup: Multi-Axis CNC Setup is responsible for maintaining Wilcox’s
quality standards while manufacturing a variety of parts. In this
position you will set up various and maintain the operation of
Multi-Axis CNC machines, this includes but is not limited to
setting up machines and bar feeders, preparing stock, inspecting
parts, cleaning and deburring parts, and maintaining a clean
working environment. Roles & Responsibilities Carry out machine
operations as instructed. Responsible for the visual and physical
quality of the parts being machined. Set up proven jobs on
multi-axis machines in the department. Update work order
information as required. Make minor program adjustments when
necessary. Work with programming and engineering to improve
processes and manufacturability of parts. Make Mazak service calls.
Perform tool changes and make offsets as needed. Train new
employees. Train and assist operators in the area with tool changes
and making offsets Identify tooling based on provided setup sheet
or program information. Use 1factory to complete the necessary
inspections. Work with the Quality Department to ensure parts are
within engineering tolerances to avoid costly scrap or rework.
Verify necessary gaging is at the machines and is within
calibration date. Maintain a clean and tidy work area. Get first
piece signed off for new work orders on running jobs. Perform
machine maintenance tasks when necessary. Navigate machine manuals
to diagnose errors and assist in resolving problems Set up and
adjust bar feeder settings when necessary. Identifies problems,
provides possible solutions, seeks guidance, and participates in
corrective actions. Ensure adherence to all safety protocols.

Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent combination of
education and experience. 5 years of CNC machining experience.
Required Skills/Abilities: Regular on-site attendance is a
necessary function of this position. Understanding of Mazatrol and
g-code programming. Ability to use precision measuring instruments
and gauges to check complex parts according to drawings. Ability to
read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, process
documentation, and work orders. Understanding of machine axis and
offset systems. Ability to diagnose machine errors or malfunctions
and assist in resolving problems. Strong communication skills.
