Job Description:
Essential Job Functions The Summer ZooTeen Supervisor will as
sist with the overall supervisio n and execution of the summer
ZooTeen program , a pr ogram that exposes youth from the City of
Boston to viable career opportunities in zoology, conservation, and
education fields. The Summer ZooTeen Supervisor p rovide s quality
educational support , mentorship, and career guidance to teens
between the ages of 1 4 -18 for a s even -week educational summer
employment program under the direction of the Youth Programs
Manager at Zoo New England’s Franklin Park Zoo. ZooTeen Supervisors
will attend orientation on Monday June 22 nd and work up to 30
hours a week between June 24 th and August 24 , 2026 . Duties &
Responsibilities Cultivate professional relationships with ZooTeen
Department Supervisors and other staff at the Franklin Park Zoo
Implement ZooTeen policies and procedures Review schedules, ZooTeen
workshop materials , and important prior correspondence with Zoo
departments Complete programmatic training s, including i.e.
interpretation, presentation/facilitation, and mentorship and
coaching Lead and co-facilitate professional development workshops
for summer ZooTeens Provide evaluation , coaching, and feedback to
Zoo Teens on performance and advocate for their needs and interests
Provide guidance and direction to participants as it relates to
their job function Follow-up with ZooTeens about completing
appropriate paperwork , surveys, and weekly timesheets Assist with
the overall supervision of the ZooTeen Program Coordinate and
co-supervise activities and special field trips with partner
organizations All other duties pertaining to the ZooTeen program as
assigned by the Youth Programs Manager Minimum Job Requirements A
self-motivated individual with excellent writing, speaking , and
organizational skills Ability to work independently and i n a team
environment Experience working with youth ages 1 4 -18 from the
City of Boston Experience with administrative tasks Applicants must
be interested in working with youth , be outgoing, creative, and
energetic A ble to act as a role model for ZooTeens Preferred Job
Requirements S tudent working toward their Bachelor's degree in
education , STE A M fields , or environmental science Fluency in
Spanish or Haitian Creole Su ccessLink Leaders will be paid $ 20
per hour and can work for a maximum of 30 hours per week. This
position is completely funded by the Department of Youth Engagement
and Employment’s SuccessLink Youth Employment Program. All
candidates must be a full-time resident of the City of Boston and m
ust be at least 19 years old & cannot turn 25 years of age on or
before September 1, 202 6 – no exceptions.
