COME GROW WITH US! Who You are: The duties of the Plant Maintenance
Manager are to organize projects and service/fabrication schedule
of each Carroll Concrete Ready-Mix Plant, and other applicable
areas. The Plant Maintenance Manager reports directly to the
Operations Manager. The responsibilities associated with this
position are carried out either directly by the individual or
through delegation to team members. Areas of focus include creating
a working annual budget and forecasted budget based upon business
need. This position works closely with the Aggregate Foreman, Area
Managers, and Fleet Manager to schedule plant repairs and
fabrications. Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager are the
Plant Maintenance Technicians. Responsibilities: Organize and
schedule projects, service, and fabrication for each Ready-Mix
Plant, Cement Terminal, and other applicable areas. Establish and
work within the set budget for all company scheduled maintenance.
Responsible for all maintenance related projects to include being
resourceful, prioritizing project needs, ordering materials. Head
of the project committee to forecast an appropriate budget for up
and coming projects. Work directly with other department heads
(Area Managers, Aggregate Superintendent and Fleet Manager) to
organize plant/building related maintenance. Oversees the team that
diagnose malfunctions and necessary repairs, performs maintenance
and reports on plants, disassembles, assembles plants, buildings,
as necessary, repairs and maintains physical structure of
establishment, etc. Must complete projects in a timely manner and
by the projected deadline. Ensure that all employees are working in
a safe and professional manner. Ensure all plants, yards and
equipment are free of safety hazards. Ensure that safety huddles
are being conducted on a weekly basis. Ensure all team members are
environmentally responsible both on and off company property.
Investigate all accidents, injuries, and near misses within
assigned area, following company protocol. Work to determine the
root cause, with the overall goal of eliminating accidents and
injuries altogether. Foster an environment that promotes safety,
professionalism and teamwork. Other Duties Follow paper-flow
procedures including documenting all repairs, parts used, issues
and items needing ordering. Other duties as assigned or as
necessary. Desired Qualifications Education: 2 year university
degree in Business Management OR equivalent work experience.
Knowledge and Skills Required: Troubleshoot and replace defective
electrical apparatus, such as switches, relays, motors and
electrical and electronic components of machinery equipment.
(Preferred Skill) Must have good communication skills. Must have
basic electric wiring understanding to trouble shoot and repair
(and know when to call in an electrician). Must be able to weld and
fabricate. Must be able to adhere to a very strict safety policy
while performing work (such as lockout/tagout, confined space, fall
protection and other applicable safety requirements). Must organize
and prioritize work efficiently. Must be able to maintain composure
through stressful situations and when under time constraints.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Plant Management or
equivalent managerial experience is related work. Must be capable
of developing and following budgets, of managing and developing
personnel, of overseeing and continuously improving operations.
Licenses and Certification Requirements: Valid Driver’s License
Restrictions: Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 100 pounds as
required throughout the workday. Bending, squatting, reaching and
standing for long periods of time. Ability to grasp, discern color,
be capable of using tools and equipment properly. Must be able to
maneuver in and around facilities safely. Must be able to climb
ladders when necessary (working at heights is inevitable). Must be
able to work in varied weather conditions, as much of the work is
performed outside in the elements. Must be able to work long and
flexible hours as necessary as well as nights and/or weekends if a
situation arises that requires immediate attention. Other Comments:
