Job Description:

The Norfolk Companies, a prestigious leader in the home improvement sector since 1934, is seeking a skilled Carpenter Punch to join our dynamic construction team. This role is critical in ensuring the highest quality finish and detail work on a variety of projects from residential to commercial, leveraging our renowned resources from Norfolk Hardware & Home Center, Norfolk Kitchen & Bath, and Northeast Cabinet & Countertop. Perform detailed finish work and final touch-ups on construction projects including kitchens, bathrooms, and general home renovation projects. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements and provide accurate estimates of material needs. Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material (e.g., fiberglass) according to measurements. Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items. Lay out floorings, roofing, or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible. Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance to ensure durability and safety. Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures. Work with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing all structures and fixtures. Comply with legal regulations and building codes. Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.). Ability to read technical documents and drawings. Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction. Capable of precise cutting, fitting, and modification for detailed designs and high-quality finish work.
