Job Description:
Encompass Health Corporation is seeking a dedicated Hospital
Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and improve our healthcare
facilities, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for both
patients and staff. As part of our Facilities & Maintenance team,
you will work across our network of inpatient rehabilitation
hospitals and home health agencies to provide vital maintenance
services. This role requires a keen attention to detail,
proficiency in various maintenance disciplines, and a strong
commitment to safety and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks throughout hospital
facilities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry
work. Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems to diagnose
issues and ensure functionality. Implement preventive maintenance
measures to enhance facility longevity and reduce incidents of
system failures. Ensure compliance with health and safety
regulations and maintain documentation of repairs and maintenance.
Collaborate with facility management to coordinate maintenance
projects and prioritize work orders. Respond to emergency
maintenance requests promptly and effectively. Proficiency in
handling maintenance tools and equipment Working knowledge of
electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems Ability to read and
interpret facility blueprints and schematics Strong troubleshooting
and problem-solving skills Effective communication and teamwork
abilities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k
Certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing is highly desirable.
OSHA Safety Certification or equivalent safety training
certificate.
