Seize the opportunity to use your skills, experience, and positive energy to make a difference RESPONSIBILITIES: Working under the supervision of the CFO/Controller, the Senior Non-Profit Accountant is responsible for general accounting duties and the daily financial operations. Assist the CFO with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Finance department, including budget review and analysis. Document unique, not-for-profit financial reporting requirement and maintain work papers consistent with state and federal (HUD) monthly billings. Supervision of staff accountant and accounting clerk. Review the processing and recording of A/P, A/R, P/R, human resource and general ledger. Identify opportunities to streamline processes to increase timeliness, efficiency, and improve the accuracy of financial reporting. Responsible for special projects as assigned by CFO/Controller. QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor---s degree in accounting or 8 years--- experience in the position of Senior Accountant. Knowledge of human resources procedures. Ability to provide exceptional service to our organization with a high professional demeanor and ability to handle matters confidentially. Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to effectively communicate with all levels including staff, team members and team leadership. Excellent organization and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy. Technical knowledge of accounting software, PeachTree preferred, and the Microsoft Suite of products (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.). Honesty, dependability, sense of humor and problem-solving skills a must. SALARY: $60-$75,000 depending upon experience.
